Born on December 30, 1955. Holds Master’s degree in International Relations.

Joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1979.

Served at Headquarters as Section Officer (1980-1984), Director (1989-1992 & 1998-2000) and Director General (2000-2001).

Held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad; Seoul (1984-1988), London (1992-1995), Tashkent (1996-1998) and New York (2001-2005).

Served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Korea (2005-2007).

Served as Additional Secretary (Asia Pacific) at Headquarters from June 2007 – August 2010.

Presently serving as High Commissioner for Pakistan to Malaysia since August 2010.

He is married.
